Rupert Murdoch and the truth

The Bible says 'be sure your sins will find you out'. I do not know if Rupert Murdoch believes this but it is true and the current Leveson Enquiry is proving to bring out into the open things that were not known before. The big problem is we never quite know if it is the truth or spin. There is going to be a day when the truth will be known and there will be no spin. God will bring 'to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the heart' (1 Cor.4.5). That is a scary thought unless of course you have made your peace with God.

The bible teaches in 1 John 1 v 7 that "the blood of Jesus Christ his (God's) Son cleanses us from all sin". This statement is written to Christians because it is true for them. A Christian is a sinner who has confessed to God the need of forgiveness, turned from their old lifestyle and trusted Jesus Christ as capable of forgiving and saving from eternal damnation. He (Jesus) can do this because he paid the cost price of sin by his death and came back from the dead to declare the effectiveness of what he had done.

Would you trust the Lord Jesus today for your present and eternal salvation.

I am praying that you will,

Stephen

What have I been doing?

Good Friday to you. You say it's not Good Friday which is true if you are thinking about Easter but if you are enjoying today (the day I am writing) then it is a good Friday as far as you are concerned.

What have I been doing?

A glowering sky at Sandringham - on our day away

Running up to Easter I was involved in running a Holiday Club in Deysbrook, Liverpool. We had a good crowd of children and some delighted parents, as you can imagine. The story of Easter was told which is gripping and exciting when you consider that the creator of the universe visited planet earth and gave his life as a sacrifice for our sins. In summary: "Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; and that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures" (1.Cor.15.3,4).

Then I was in Barrow in Furness for the Easter weekend. It was tremendous to meet people and tell them the earth shattering news of Easter once again.

After a brief tour to Ely in Cambridgeshire to see my daughter and her fiancee's new house I was back home preparing for a weekend in Northern Ireland giving some talks on Marriage and the Family. Now that is teaching that we need in our society. You know what they say - "prevention is better than cure".

In closing I assume that you are interested in online info. Why not dip into the Digital Sojourner site. This website features a number of Christian Bible Teachers and has a lot of helpful tips about blogging, social media, vBlogging and a whole lot more. Jack Hay of Perth, Scotland is currently running a series of the truth of the church.

Happy reading, watching, listening. Have a good week.
